40 | From Corporate Finance to Entrepreneurship: Sometimes You Change Your Path! The majority of my career was spent in the corporate world working in information security and operational risk for government agencies, large corporations, and fintech companies. My degree is in accounting, but I chose a path through compliance and audit because it was stable and paid well. In 2024, I walked away from corporate life to open SereniTea Boutique, my own tea shop and boutique, with the support of my family and my business partner. My biggest lesson: your first plan doesn’t have to be your forever plan—it’s okay to change direction as your goals and passions evolve. 41 | The Ultimate Insider: How We Put Our City on the Map Explore Lee's Summit is a new tourism department within Lee's Summit. The organization is responsible for promoting Lee's Summit as a tourism destination to those both inside and outside of our city through our marketing and outreach efforts.
